Daily recommended dosage: 1000 mg per day.
Chaga
Chaga or Inonotus obliquus is a fungus in the family hymenochaetaceae. It is parasitic on birch trees. The sterile conk is irregularly formed and resembles a tar a-like, burnt charcoal.
The extracts of Chaga demonstrate potent anti-tumor activities and have been used to treat cancer in several countries. It enhances the effects of some chemotherapeutics.
Chaga causes upregulation of Bax and caspase-3 and downregulation of Bcl-2, leading to apoptosis of cancer cells. ColoreInotodiol, a substance isolated from chaga, inhibited proliferation of cancer cells and induced apoptosis.
Chaga's powerful anti-cancer substances can easily be extracted by water.
Daily recommended dosage: 1000 mg.
Clostridium
Clostridium butyricum is a butyrate-producing human gut bacteria that has been safely used as a probiotic for decades.
Clostridium butyricum has anti-cancer properties as it is able to produce butyrate and butyrate can inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells and enhance efficiacy of immunotherapy.
Daily recommended dosage: 1 capsule a day of clostridum butyricum bacteria.
Ellagic
Ellagic acid is a so called polyphenol found in numerous fruits and vegetables. Pomegranate has a high grade of ellagic acid.
Ellagic acid has anti-cancer properties as it inhibits carcinogen-induced adduct formation, blocks keys signalling in various cancers.
Daily recommended dosage: 1000 mg.
Fisetin
Fisetin is a so called flavonoid. It is found in many fruits and vegetables, such as strawberries, apples, persimmons, onions, and cucumbers.
Fisetin exhibits several beneficial effects in cancer cells, including the suppressing proliferation, inducing apoptosis, reducing of angiogenesis, preventing oxidative stress, inhibiting migration, and enhancing chemotherapeutic effects.
Daily recommended dosage: 100/200 mg.
Gynostemma
Gynostemma pentaphyllum also called jiaogulan in China, is a dioecious, herbaceous climbing vine of the family cucurbitaceae (cucumber or gourd family), widely distributed in South and East Asia as well as New Guinea.
Gynostemma pentaphyllum induces apoptosis by inhibiting the so called PI3K/AKT/mTOR intracellular pathway and enhances T-cell antitumor immunity by inhibiting PD-L1 on cancer cells.
Daily recommended dosage: 500 mg.
Matrine
Matrine is an alkaloid found in plants from the family fabaceae. It has a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-cancer effects.
Matrine significantly inhibited cancer cell growth by inducing apoptosis. It als so induced ferroptosis in cancer cells and suppressed metastasis of a variety of cancer cells.
Please note: do not buy the purified matrine!
Instead: buy the capsulated whole herb.
1000 mg of the purified matrine is toxic!
Matrine is also sold as Ku Shen, made from the Sophora Flavescens root. Capsulated Ku Shen is better available.
Recommended daily dosage: the whole herb, 1000 mg.
Oenothera
Oenothera biennis the common evening-primrose, is a species of flowering plant in the family Onagraceae, native to eastern and central North America and widely naturalized elsewhere in temperate and subtropical regions.
Oenothera biennis has anti-cancer effects, by induction of apoptosis, inhibiting angiogenesis, halting cell proliferation and has immunostimulating effects by blocking PD-1/PD-L1.
Daily recommended dosage: 1000 mg.
Physalis
Physalis Peruviana is a plant belonging to the nightshade family (solanaceae) native to Chile and Peru. In English, its common names include Cape gooseberry, goldenberry and Peruvian groundcherry.
Physalis Peruviana has been used over hundreds of years in traditional medicine.
Physalis Peruviana contains two powerful anti-cancer molecules.
1. Physapruin A, this substance modulates the oxidative-stress response, cell-cycle disturbance, apoptosis.
2. Whitaferin A, this substance leads to inhibition of cancer cell proliferation and cell cycle arrest, ultimately leading to apoptosis or cell death. Withaferin A is also able to reverse chemoresistance in certain cancers.
Daily recommended dosage: Physalis Peruviana is available in a dried fruit variety. Eat max. 100 grams per day.
Quercetin
Quercetin is a plant flavonol from the flavonoid group of polyphenols. It can be found in many fruits, vegetables, leaves, seeds.
Quercetin is able to decrease tumor growth through targeting VEGFR-2-mediated angiogenesis and suppresses metastasis in a broad range of malign cancers. It also inhibits the interaction between the immune-checkpoint PD-1 and its ligand PD-L1.
Quercetin is furthermore able to inhibit the expression of the Yes-associated protein (YAP). YAP is a relatively new target in cancer research and newly developed YAP-blockers reveal promising data.
And as a cherry on the pie: quercetin is able to block the so callen YY1 protein. YY1 or Yin Yang 1 is a relatively new anti-cancer target. A very influential target within cancer cells.
Via oral ingestion, quercetin is in its regular form, not leading to a good bioavailability. Therefore it is recommended to buy the liposomal formulation.
